My Bio

I’m Guadalupe Javier Galindo Jr and was born and raised in Wichita, KS. I have faced many challenges in my life starting as far back as I can remember. My greatest challenge was when my dream of serving my country as a marine came to a crashing halt after graduation in the recruiter’s office and being told I had to lose 80 Lbs in order to reach the maximum allowable weight.

I didn’t plan on going to college, joining the USMC was my only plan, so I fell into a deep depression. Eventually I got a job at UPS, and then nearly got fired because I couldn’t keep up with the work load. Life was hard, because by this point I weighed in at more than 316 lbs. I had to make a decision. Life was too hard and I had to change something because I couldn’t keep doing this. So I took action, and in no way was it is easy. After three attempts I finally ran my first mile. It took me nearly three hours, but eventually I finished my first mile and started a habit.

Now I’ve completed more than 50 Marathons 30 half marathons and countless 5K and 10Ks and more than half a dozen ultra-marathons of 50 miles or more with two 100 mile finishes and and one of them being ran in under 24 hours. I’ve also completed 7 full distance Ironman triathlons and even more spring, Olympic and 70.3 distance triathlons. But more than that, I had many failures along the way.

I learned from them, so I could grow from them. If I can do it than so can you. You only have to start believing in yourself. That’s why I started the Tri Lunatics Triathlon Club to bring people from all over the world together to help motivate and inspire each other to go after their dream and to reach for more than they once believed was possible.

I've since gone on to reach my dream of serving my country and have also become a certified trainer, coach and speaker for the John Maxwell Team. Helping other reach their full potential and their dreams. If you’d like to have me speak at your triathlon or running club, or at your organization, please contact me at
